Role-playing game for the iPod

Posted by ssjunhao on July 9, 2008

And it is by the guys who bought you the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix, Inc. The new game called Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes is for the iPod nano with video, iPod classic and fifth generation iPod, just not the iPhone or iPod touch.

In this role-playing game, you are the protagonist Ziggy who goes on a quest to save his brother from the evil Mechanical Militia. Along the way, warriors created from the songs in your iPod can be summoned to fight your battles.

Well, I wouldn’t know how this would turn out. I don’t own any of the iPods, never will.. Although the iPhone or Touch does look sexy.. Anyway, just find this to be an interesting news. It is retailing for US$4.99 per download.

Red hot Chili SPIDEY

Posted by wrestlingmat on June 15, 2008

Scotty is back with another update! And this time round is the red hot chili spidey. There have been a heavy rumor circulated around the web that the script for Spiderman 4 and 5 is near completion. The plot would feature an arch enemy for Spidey and the speculation is high on the return of Venom and the birth of Carnage.

While, it may be good news for all the Spidey fans out there, however, actor Tobey Maguire may more reasons to frown than smile. That right, the producers Laura Ziskin and Grant Curtis are mulling new names for the role of Peter Parker.

In the long term, I do see the prospects of contemplating over this move. First of all, by replacing Tobey, it could standardised like a “James Bond Franchise” project – Every few movies, change a new guy. Story remains the same. Actors are changed.

Second of all, new names could also mean a new appealing factor.

WELL, though no words have been CONFIRMED but I would like to stress out this point – many story plots are leaked this way, like the green man with muscles recently. Heh?

Dragonball The Movie

Posted by wrestlingmat on June 8, 2008

Hello everyone! my name is Scott and I’m the newest addition to the M.G.E community Let’s start my first post with a bang – guess what I found what I goggled stephen chow and james wong name.

Tada! Dragonball Z the movie, which is set to release in 2009. The film revolves around Goku who seek to obtain the 7 mystical Dragonball ball before the evil villain, Piccolo does. There are current plans to make it trilogy, with the expansion likely to depend on the box office results. I wouldn’t pin much hope for it after I found these pics on the web.

The heartening factor is that at least the female lead, Chi Chi played by Jamie Chung, is rather cute.

Could it be a flop like Eragon? I don’t know, but at least, I am sure the reason I making this post is because it is produced by Stephen Chow. The rest is mundane.

Dynasty Warrior 6(5) – Reader’s Review

Posted by ssjunhao on June 4, 2008

Arhh, look at that! Its “Lu Bu”. Yes, our warriors have return to spoil your controller’s square or X button once again with Koei most popular button mashing game: DW6.

Don’t be fooled by the 42″ LCD TV in Funan IT mall that shows the trailer where “Zhao Yun” is able to shoot a spear and “Lu Bu” having a one-of-a-kind weapon, or Koei’s homepage of a super positive review. Honestly the game sucks for a simple reason – Repetitive.

As most of the reviews has stated,(other than the one on koei’s homepage) the game once again portrayed the same old story in that same old era. As you will be spending most of your time in the musou mode slashing through dumb enemies that just begs you to kill them before they disappear into the thin air.

New elements added in the game includes, the grapple, special and calling of horse which is there just to fill up the controller buttons. It is not that the game doesn’t have anything decent, is just that the accumulative skill tree, objective and climbing ladders just lack of significance. At this point, with the next generation of graphics, this is the best stuff you can get in the game so far. While free mode and challenge mode is just a waste of time.

Actually what I’m most frustrated about was the strategic elements that can’t be found in this game where your allies are calling for help, you can hardly do anything to assign troops to assist them. So does that means the Chinese goes to war with one general and hack and slash throughout?

And now i finally understand why Koei kept turning deaf ear towards their angry fans.. Look at what Koei has in their homepage, “KOEI does NOT accept any outside game ideas at this time.”

Ninja Gaiden II

Posted by ssjunhao on June 4, 2008

Today was the launch of Ninja Gaiden II at Funan the IT mall. It was suppose to be a happy event for the developers when ever a game is finally released. But sad to say, not this time round.

As Itagaki, the creator of the Ninja Gaiden series and Dead or Alive(DoA), had decided to quit Team Ninja, and suing Tecmo.

Details can be read at 1up.com

With his talent, I’m sure there will be lots of openings for him. I hope Microsoft would help him in some way or another..*cough, open a studio*cough. Just like Mistwalker..

If you’re not sure on getting this title, the demo is up at the local market place. Go try it!

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit

Posted by ssjunhao on June 2, 2008

I’ve just had a try of the demo off the US market place, it is still not available at the local market place. It is a very short demo, with only 2 battles and 2 characters to use. Goku and Yamcha. And nope, Guko isn’t able to transform to any Super Sayian state nor Kaio-Ken because well, he doesn’t know that yet. (This battle is against his brother at planet Earth)

There are no tutorials here, just the loading screen with the actions mapping to the buttons on the controller. It is fairly simple. If you happen to not have played any of the Budokai series, its alright, when you pause the game, there will be a list move. So you can perform the famous Kamehameha.

One new element added is the changing of scenes while fighting. After perform some powerful moves, and watching those cut-scenes, you would be, lets say, fighting above the clouds now. I wonder if there are more scenes..

One big question now would be – Is it worth it to buy the Japanese version?(there wouldn’t be a ntsc-J Asian relese) There shouldn’t be any problem knowing the keys of the buttons now that there is the demo and story, well, it is still the same old story years ago. By watching the cut-scenes before the fight, you should have roughly know which part of the story you’re fighting for. If more help is needed, I’m sure a visit to gamesFAQ should settle it.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

Posted by ssjunhao on May 30, 2008

I’m sure any one who plays RTS on the PC will come across this game – Red Alert. It was a fun game back then, and I’m sure it will be the same for the latest installment into the series.

And why would I say that?

Well, because I’ve just watched a video walkthrough of the single player demo.(Soviet)

Watch it to learn more about the game and some of the new features. The only grip I have with the game so far is the graphic presentation of the game. Not that it ain’t nice to watch the water effects and stuff, but it just has a ‘kiddie’ feel to it. I know that Red Alert from start wasn’t based on realism. Maybe its just me. Oh, and I’m sure my laptop ain’t powerful enough to run it.

Thats when the Xbox360 comes in. Red Alert this time is not only going to be released in PC but also in the Xbox360 and the Playstation 3. It is scheduled for an October release.

We all do know that the best way to enjoy an RTS is with mouse and keyboard..
